Start with the question you need answered today. These Lagos Life guides cover getting into the official game, choosing a standard city background, planning your income and comparing careers.

Your first session

The beginner guide combines the official game entrance with a practical first-session checklist. It explains the relationship between your character, needs, money, housing and work. You do not need to read every database entry before taking your first useful step.

If the game interface has changed, follow the labels in the official game. Our descriptions refer to the public client reviewed on October 5, 2026, rather than an invented version number. Account and age requirements come from the official terms.

Choose a starting background

The Nepo Baby vs LAPO Baby comparison explains the standard Lagos starts. Starting cash, an existing career and a loan are different kinds of advantage. The guide separates money already in your wallet from money you must repay.

University play has a separate starting route. It is outside that comparison, so the two city backgrounds should not be treated as a complete list of every possible start.

Work out what you can spend

The money guide starts with shift pay and recurring costs. It explains why a base salary is not necessarily your final payout, and why a larger balance after taking a loan is not the same as earning income.

Use the salary calculator for a defined set of completed shifts. Enter rent, other costs and deductions for that same period. It does not automatically calculate the game's cumulative weekly tax.

Choose a career with context

The career comparison guide separates entry pay from the salary at a future career level. Check the jobs database for the recorded facts, then use the Job Finder to filter entry roles by your current skills.

These guides share one reviewed data snapshot. Where a rule depends on player circumstances or live features, the page explains that boundary instead of promising a guaranteed outcome.
